The Matchbox Idea

For each test work include:
1. Outline
150-200 word introduction/overview

Looking at the exhibition and the way it shapes the viewers understandings of what it depicts.
Early museums seen as destroying rather than preserving art and history by taking the works and artefacts out of the stream of daily life: whether history is about life or the petrification of life (Museum Memories, reference).
The sea is very conceptual, we understand it by its edges, trying to find a good way to think about something so huge and normal. kind of like trying to pay attention to the fact we are all surrounded by air.
Idea that such a conceptual subject would make the modes of exhibition more obvious.

2. Brief, specific literature review
Visual precedents, significant practitioners, significant theorists etc that relate to the rest.
Include images
